課程目標 |
The primary objective of the course is to understand current research in finance through working papers presented by researchers from various universities and institutions. Doing this will help you improve your ability to discuss, comment upon, and referee the work of others, to formulate viable research topics, and to conduct successful research in finance. |

課程要求 |
Grading and Requirements:
(1) Class Participation: 50%.
Your responsibilities are to attend all seminars and comment upon the papers. You will have to read the papers very carefully, criticize them, and raise questions during presentations.
(2) Research Proposal: 50%.
You are required to submit a research proposal. To find a topic, choose a working paper presented at our seminar. Then, decide a topic that is most interesting to you and potentially has significant contribution to the literature. Your proposal should include two parts: (a) provide, in detail, previous theoretical and/or empirical studies related to your research topic; and (b) propose future theoretical and/or empirical research work.
The emphasis in this proposal should be on your own suggested future research. Be as definite as you can. Sketch out or even develop your ideas for a research paper that takes the literature one step beyond what you have reviewed. It would be better if you can also provide some preliminary results. |
